The power of Five by Alex Lindell was an exciting start to a different kind of story about mortals and Fae. Alex creates a new world where Fae exist and where they don't interact with mortals.

This book takes us on a journey with Lera a mortal female, and four fae males River, Coal, Tye, and Shade. The males are part of an elite quint of warriors that is supposed to made up of all males and all fae. They have been waiting a decade for their new fifth to be chosen for them by magic. To their surprise though the magic chose a mortal female.

We are brought on a journey with the quint to try and get some answers, and figure out how the magic could have chosen a mortal.

This book was great from page one. I love the take on the fae world, and the imagery the author brings about for us. I for one can’t wait for the next installment!
