I received an ARC for this book and voluntarily read and reviewed it. What a love story. Declan and Holly are the perfect couple. At least, they were, until a misunderstanding tore them apart. What I love about this story is that it’s so normal. It’s so plausible, it’s so… human. D. Kelly has a habit of grabbing emotions and pulling on the strings as far as they will go, but it’s worth every tug, every word and every page. Watching all of the characters interact in this story, it’s something that could be happening to you, to your best friend, your next door neighbor. The story is so relatable, everyone has their flaws, their failures and their triumphs. There’s no bad guy or good guy, there’s just life and the crazy things that could happen or have happened to all of us. All of the emotions we feel, this story touches them all in a way that is seamless and captivating. D. Kelly has truly created a work of art with The Evolution of Us and is quickly cementing herself as one of my favorite authors.
