This book is a loose play on the classic Beauty and The Beast. You are brought into the world of Isabelle aka Belle or Izzy. This book has a father that is a little nutty, a daughter who wants to help protect her father from what she believes is a beast(s), a bad guy with the last name Gastone, with many paranormal aspects thrown in there, along with multiple hot guys, with a steamy scene ( or two).
I really enjoyed this book, I love the creativity of the author and how she loosely played off of Beauty and the Beast but you still know what she is doing! This book was fast paced, had so many twists and turns, and was just an all-around great read!
I am interested to see what the other books in the series will bring and can’t wait to see whose world we will be thrown into next. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a different twist on a classic fairy tale in the Reverse Harem genre. This book is a standalone it is part of a series but it isn’t left in a cliff hanger. Below are a copy of disclaimers from the author:
“The Poison Court Saga is a collection of standalone fairy tale retellings with a paranormal reverse harem twist and a HEA. The novels are set in the Wicked Witch universe, so although each Poison Courts novel is a standalone story you might get to catch up with your favorite (or most hated) characters in the Wicked Witch series!”
“These stories are intended for a NA (new adult) and adult audience and are not YA or super-clean reads. The heroines are not shrinking violets or delicate flowers. There will be a touch of steam, a smattering of salty language, a heap of fast-paced action, and more hot males than the fairy godmother could handle.”
