This book jumps right into the world of Nora Hunt. You are brought to the East where we get to see how Nora is currently living. The people in the east are peaceful, and are not ones for bragging or being competitive. All Nora’s life she has been different, she hasn’t looked like the other people from the east and has been an outcast and picked on because of that.
In the beginning of this book you get to see Nora go through the allocation, and from that she is taken from her home in the east and brought to the West where she is training to become a raider. You get to go with Nora as she learns many secretes about her past, goes through a grueling six weeks of training, and tries not to fall in love for the first time.
I really enjoyed this book the world Farah Cook has created is different from anything else I have ever read. I am very intrigued to see what is going to happen next and cannot wait to start the next installment!

“Have you ever seen anything as beautiful and strong as these wild animals?” I say admiringly.
“Yes, I have,” he says and stares intensely at me. “I’m looking at one right now.”
