I received an ARC for this book and voluntarily read and reviewed it. The Lawyer and the Tramp was difficult for me in the beginning. I’m not really sure why. The author is a great writer, but something about it just dragged a bit in the beginning, but it picked up eventually and I was able to finish it with no other hiccups. Eva and Carmine are a turbulent pair, but one that works better together than apart. The dealings of the Chicago Syndicate are secretive and deadly. Eva, being in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people, is thrust into the center of a web while the poisonous spiders inch closer and closer. I really felt bad for Eva through this entire thing, because I felt like anything that could go wrong for her would and did go wrong. This ended up being a pretty great read, a little out of my norm, but I was glad I decided to read it. I look forward to seeing what else Soraya Naomi has to offer!

I received an ARC for this book and voluntarily read and reviewed it. Kimberly Loth continues to amaze me with her wide range of writing niches. She doesn’t stick to one thing, but instead mixes it up and we never know what to expect next. The Smoking Lamp brings us into the world of genies and what a thrilling spin it is to read. She has given us a refreshing take to the genie genre. Liv and Gabe are two great characters and the tension between them is palpable. The plot moves well and I didn’t feel as though there were any hiccups. The characters are well developed and she has created an amazing main character in Liv. It was easy to place myself in the middle of the action and watch everything unfold as though it was a movie. There is so much to this series with only one book and that can be built on in the future. I can not wait to get my hands on the next book because man, Kimberly Loth knows how to hit us right in the feels. Right. In. The. Feels. “I exhaled, disappointed, and yet excited. This anticipation, this thrill of the wait, was exhilarating. Eventually I would secure that kiss, but in some ways, I hoped we had a few more interruptions.”
I received an ARC for the book and voluntarily read and reviewed it. Wow. What a fast paced, sexually charged, action packed novella. I loved this story from start to finish and I wish there was more! I loved the dynamic of Reeve and Aster. They were two well written characters, both with their flaws and strong points. Their family dynamic was relatable and it was nice to see them bond. There were a few twists that I did not expect and they helped keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the course of the story. This was definitely a plot line that could have been developed into a full length novel, or even a series because I would definitely read the before and after happenings in the book. Actually, I’m still craving to know the after. After only the second story I’ve read in this small little town, I’m beginning to fall more and more in love with Havenwood Falls and all it’s residents. I will also be looking into EJ Fechenda more after this.
